Church @ the Beach – Sunday Evenings in January

Each Sunday throughout January our 5.30pm Evening Service is held at Emery Park, Gerroa. This is a great chance to relax amongst a caring and fun community of faith. We enjoy a BYO picnic dinner (free BBQs available) and share in a brief time of informal worship and teaching. A game of cricket usually follows, as does a swim at the beach for the really keen!

So if you’re not into all the trappings of ‘church’ but are interested in exploring how Jesus is still relevant in 2012, this is the least ‘churchy’ option around – basically a BBQ dinner with friends & a short, creative message. All welcome.

Christmas Day @ Gerringong Uniting Church

Join us on Christmas Day as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. We will have two worship services: 8am & 9.30am. Both services will be child-friendly and include some of your favourite carols. We look forward to seeing you there.

Men’s Breakfast – Saturday 26th November

Our next inter-church mens breakfast will be on Saturday 26th November at Chittick Lodge (cnr Fern St & Bridges Rd) at 7.30am. The latest addition to the ranks of clergy here at Gerringong, Jon Clare, (assistant minister at Gerringong Anglican Church) will be our keynote speaker. All blokes are welcome to come and enjoy the great value food and fellowship for $10. Please call Ken Miller (4234 1969) or Ivor Gallan (4234 2398) to confirm your attendance.

Carlie Chapman guest speaker @ Oasis

The next ‘Oasis’ women’s meeting will be on Sunday 27th November at 2pm in our church. The keynote speaker will be our own Carlie Chapman. Carlie is a mother of four and wife to our minister, Peter. Carlie is gifted in wisdom and discernment, and is much loved throughout our community. Carlie will be speaking on the topic of new life. The meeting will be followed by a delectable afternoon tea. Family Service – Sunday Oct 23rd: Don’t Worry!

This Sunday (Oct 23rd) at the 10.30am Family Service: Do not worry!

We will be teaching our kids to cast all their worries and anxiety upon God who cares for them (1 Peter 5:7). Come along & watch one lucky contestant lug around a backpack filled with large stones from boat harbour (dead whale residue included at no extra charge).

Special guest panelists at evening service – Sunday 2nd October

This week’s evening service will feature a couple of very special guest panelists – Rev. Colin & Muriel Jones. Colin & Muriel have been following Jesus together for many years and have great wisdom to share. We will have the opportunity to learn much from them as they answer questions and share their story. As always, a kids club and creche is provided, and an evening meal follows the service. We look forward to seeing you at 5.30pm.

Barefoot Bowls: Saturday 1st October

We want to ask you: What’s the most fun you can have on grass? Answer: coming along to our next Barefoot Bowls morning on October 1st at the Gerringong Bowling Club! This fundraiser will help make our new multi-pupose community centre become a reality, and promises to be a great morning on grass with a BBQ to follow. Cost of $10 for adults, $5 for primary school kids, kids under 5 are free, (families pay no more than $30) includes tuition, unlimited bowling, sausage sandwich and a free drink the kids. Gerringong’s next combined churches mens breakfast will be held at Chittick Lodge (cnr Fern St & Bridges Rd) on Saturday 10th September at 7.30am. The guest speaker will be Tim Francis, the co-founder of ‘A Taste of Paradise’, a farm-based mentoring and work experience program for young people. The farm is run as a mixed organic farm close to Berry. $10 covers your hot breakfast. Bookings can be made with Ken Miller on 4234 1969 or Ivor Gallan on 4234 2398.

Garage Sale: Saturday 3rd September

We are having a garage sale on Saturday 3rd September from 8.30am – 1pm. A range of goods will be on sale on the front lawn of the church (28 Fern St) together with a sausage sizzle.
